After a little hiatus, I'm back, and very much looking forward to blogging away much more regularly. I flew to Nice to meet my family for Christmas and New Year, then we came through Italy for a quick week trip before they flew home to Australia.
We had a fantastic time, and it was so nice to be back with my family again, especially my younger sister. We hired a car and drove through small towns near Nice (Eze, Villefranche Sur Mer, Monaco, Ventimiglia, Cannes) and ate great food and enjoyed fabulous local wines.

Mr F. flew up after Christmas to stay with us for a few days, which I really enjoyed. And appreciated, given that he speaks verrry little English and my family speak no Italian! On January 2nd, we all travelled to Italy together and i got to show my folks around where I've been living on and off for the last few months. And introduce them to Mr F's family. (!!!)
We made our way down to Florence and Rome, (will post of their loveliness at a alter date!) and I said goodbye to my family on Saturday as they left to fly back to Australia. I'm not going to lie, I did have a teary moment as the train pulled away from the platform, but I know these next 10 months are going to fly by and I'm going to really enjoy myself.
